Mobile Photography
What is mobile Photography? Mobile Photography is very self explanatory. It’s literally just taking photos from your phone.
Editing Apps
I use 3 editing apps... Bazaart, whitagram and AirBrush. These apps are great at helping me adjust my images and add things to them. Bazaart is my favourite app because it’s features allow me to change the image, trip/cut parts of it, add new backgrounds and completely transform the images.
Bazaart
Bazaart is a free app that allows you to edit your image and transform it into whatever you want. You can also pay to get access to extra tools but this is optional. Personally, I really like this app because it allows me to do what I want with my images and it provides outlines and ideas that I can use.
Whitagram
Whitagram is a very simple editing app. Unlike Bazaart you can’t add things to the images. Whitagram does allow you to just change things like exposure, shadowns, sharpness and focus. This is a good app if you just want to edit the picture without adding extra elements of trimming specific areas.
AirBrush
AirBrush advertises itself similar to Bazzart but it’s actually a lot closer to whitagram and you have to pay for a lot more of the tools. This is my least favourite editing app and I hardly ever use it because it isn’t great.
Shoot 1 - Colours
Colours is a big part of photography. They can make things look brighter and darker. Colours often help show emotions and are a great way to express yourself as a photographer.
Plan
For this task I will edit some images on two of my editing apps (Bazaart and whitagram) and the other on my phones normal editing option. These images will have colour in them and I will edit each image in the different apps, carefully looking at exposure, brightness, focus and grayscale.
Bazaart
This is what the images look like that I edited with Bazaart. For these images I looked very carefully at the brightness to make sure they weren’t to bright or dark.
I really like how these images turned out. This app was especially good at allowing me to change each images saturation and vibrance. These images are very clear and bright. I really like how they turned out. My favourite image is the one of my sister. Her dress is very bright and you can see how blue her eyes are. I love this app and will continue using it.
Whitagram
I have used this app lots. This app is usually best for darker images and is good at making small details stand out. I have noticed when using this app that brighter images don’t turn out as good as they do on my other apps such as Bazaart but they are still good.
I like these images but there isn’t much special about them. I like these images but I they aren’t as eye catching. My favourite image is the one of the car mirror. It’s dark but the sun set is reflected nicely. This app is good at highlighting one area and making it stand out.
iPhone edit
For these images I have edited them on my iPhone camera gallery. These images should be easy to edit as lots of people use this to edit their images.
These images turned out really well and I love how although these are a verity of different images they all look so good. The first images is from a concert I went to last year. I really like how this image turned out. I went to a similar concert the year before but the images from that turned out grainy and weren’t very good. I love all of these images so it’s very hard to find a favourite but I think my personal favourite is the ones in the middle. This image was very simple to edit as all I had to do is adjust the sharpness and vibrance. I love this way of editing images as it’s quick, simple and effective.
Shoot 2 - Line and angles
For this shoot I took some images including lines, angles and textures. These are images I took at Crosby beach while on a late evening walk. My phone was on 7% and I didn’t have any mobile data so this shoot was incredibly hard. I couldn’t take my images using the apps I have researched due to lack of internet so instead I took them on my normal iPhone camera and waited until I got home to do anything else. Because taking each image one of the researched app wasn’t possible I decided to just edit each element of the images on each different app. Firstly, I changed the images to black and white using Bazaart. Next, I carefully adapted the exposure, contrast and vibrance using whitagram. After that, I used square (an app that transforms your image into a square so that you can post them on instagram) to turn my images into squares. Finally, I used Bazaart again to add a better focus point on my images so that they came out sharper and more appealing. Overall, although I had technical issues at the start I believe this was a really successful shoot.
Before
After
Shoot 3 - Nature
This shoot was very simple. The theme I was given is nature and all I had a to do is take images using one of the apps I researched. The app I chose to take the images with is Whitagram. This app was easy to use and the pictures look good. Compared to most apps this app gives the images a dark feel. I took these images in a forest on a bright day. Because it was already bright the usual darkness the app adds wasn’t there. Personally, I like how my images turned out but in the future I would go back and edit the images again on a different app too change the exposure, add more vibrance and change the focus. This would make the images brighter and more eye catching.
Shoot 4 - Close ups
For this shoot I took lots of close up images inside and around my house. In these images I tried to focus on the exposure and vibrance. I took these images on my iPhone and edited them I Bazaart.
Worst
I don’t like these images because they aren’t very interesting and the focus isn’t good. If I took these images again I would take more care when focusing.
Best
Personally, I really like these pictures because they are very vibrent and capture the colour very well. These images are in focus and the saturated colour makes the images stand out.
Shoot 5 - Weather
For this shoot, I was given the topic of weather. At first I couldn’t think of what to do. I took a while trying to think of ideas but I couldn’t think of anything I could do. My outside access was quite limited this week because I had to self isolate. Today when I went out for a necessary trip it started raining. Perfect for this shoot! As I was driving I got the idea of going to the bridge to do my shoot. The bridge was very foggy and I couldn’t capture a good image so instead I decided to take pictures of the pigeons in front of the bridge. The images I took weren’t perfect but I think they are good. I edited these images using the iPhone camera app. This app is the images app that originally came with my phone. It is the image gallery but it also gives an option to edit my images. The editing options is good because it saves you downloading lots of extra editing apps.
Worst
These are the worst images because although the aren’t I don’t feel like they show the weather enough. The first image shows a puddle but it’s not a very interesting puddle and because the picture is light you can’t tell if it’s actually raining or if it’s sunny. The second image is better because it shows fog and the darker clouds but the image would be a lot better if it had a specific focus point. The focus point would add more depth and make the image more appealing. If I took the image again I could take it lower and focus on a blade of grass. The grass would be wet and it would still show the clouds in the back. This would help develop the image into something better.
Best
I love these images because they all have a good focus point. The first image is very clear and shows the bird and the weather clearly. I also like the images with the blue fences. One of them is focused on a spider web and the other is focus on the water on it. These are good images that are nice and bright. I like how they both show the bridge and/or the weather. These are very clear images that are very appealing.
Shoot 6- collections
For this shoot I had to take images off as pacific item/ items or category. For this shoot I didn’t have many ideas but I did know what I wanted to take the images from different angles and heights. My first images where taken on and around the Runcorn Bridge. For these images I focused on exposure and saturation. The water around the bridge isn’t great but I wanted it to still look good so instead of focusing on that I focused on the green of the bridge. This helped make my images look more appealing. For my second group of images I looked at my mums car. The images I took where in a forest so I decided to look closely on the reflections the car made. I like how all my images turned out. To edit my images I went onto the iPhone camera app and changed the settings.

Car
Worst
I don’t like these images as much because they aren’t as vibrant and aren’t edited as well. Next time I would improve these images by focusing more on the light and green. This would help improve my photos.
Best
These are my favourite images. I love these because they capture the colours very well. I particularly like the image of the bridge that is reflected on the water. That image is my favourite because of the colours and because of how well the reflection looks.
